She has worked at the State Department at the Bureau of Consular Affairs and the Peace Corps. Ms. Bhagat then went on to attend law school at American University Washington College of Law in Washington D.C. Ms. Bhagat earned her early practice certificate and worked with a criminal defense firm in Virginia, the Arlington County Commonwealth Attorney's office, and the Brooklyn District Attorney's office. After graduating from law school, Ms. Bhagat worked for a family, criminal, and business litigation boutique law firm practicing in the Washington D.C. metropolitan area. Ms. Bhagat trained under Nimmo Bhagat an immigration attorney practicing for twenty years. Pooja Bhagat then founded Bhagat Law Firm in 2014.While practicing immigration law, Ms. Bhagat has represented clients in family petitions, employment visas, non-immigrant visas, entertainer visas, extraordinary ability visas, domestic violence petitions, investor visas, naturalization cases, and many other complex immigration matters.
