Gabriela Watson is a Marshall County Alabama native. She graduated from Albertville High School in Albertville, Alabama and then attended Snead State Community College in Boaz, Alabama on an academic scholarship. Thereafter, Gabriela transferred to The University of Alabama where she attended undergraduate school and received a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science and a Bachelor of Arts in Philosophy in May of 2007.
After obtaining her undergraduate degrees, Gabriela worked at Jinks, Crow and Dickson, P.C. in Union Springs, Alabama as a legal assistant, where she gained invaluable knowledge and experience assisting in the representation of victims of personal injury and small businesses, and individuals who have been economically harmed with wrongful conduct by large corporations throughout Central and Southern Alabama and Nationwide.
In August 2008, Gabriela started her law career and begun attending law school at Faulkner University Thomas Goode Jones School of Law in Montgomery, Alabama. While in law school and under the supervision of the Assistant Clinical Professor of Law, Gabriela gained experience practicing elder law by serving senior clients with various legal needs such as: wills and trust, powers of attorney, living wills, property and financial need, and government benefits. Additionally, while in law school Gabriela was an intern at Legal Services of Alabama in Montgomery, Alabama. Legal Services of Alabama is a statewide nonprofit organization dedicated to providing access to justice and free quality civil legal aid and assistance to Alabama’s low-income community. Gabriela was a member of the Federalist Society chapter of Thomas Goode Jones School of Law, and served as the Federalist Society Vice President from August 2008 - May 2009.
Gabriela graduated from Faulkner University Thomas Goode Jones School of Law in December of 2010 and obtained her Juris Doctor. Thereafter, Gabriela was admitted to the Alabama State Bar in April of 2011 and joined the firm of Watson & Watson, Attorneys at Law. Gabriela is admitted to practice in all Alabama state courts, the United States District Court for the Northern District of Alabama, and all Immigration courts. Gabriela is a member of The American Bar Association, The American Immigration Lawyers Association, The Alabama State Bar, The Alabama Civil Justice Foundation, The Young Lawyers Section of the Alabama State Bar, and The Marshall County Bar Association. Gabriela served as the Marshall County Bar Association President in 2012 and 2013, and during that time she was awarded the Alabama State Bar Award of Achievement for the Marshall County Bar Association Outstanding Accomplishments. Gabriela currently serves in The Marshall County Bar Association Scholarship committee and is a board member of The Court Appointed Juvenile Advocates of Marshall County for Children.
Gabriela has focused her law career in representing clients with regards to Immigration Law, Civil Litigation/Vehicle Accidents, Probate Law, and Domestic Law. Gabriela has served as speaker for the Alabama State Bar Annual Meeting during the Immigration Law updates, and has served as a speaker with regards to Immigration Law updates for various companies in Alabama.
Gabriela’s expertise in Immigration Law lie in all family-based matters as well as complex deportation defense cases. She assists individuals with regards to green card and citizenship applications, initial visa filings and extensions, consular processing and I-601/I-601A Waivers, assist victims of crimes (T/U Visas) and domestic violence (VAWA Petitions). Gabriela has represented individuals before the Immigration Courts for many years, and she handles numerous types of deportation matters, including bond hearings and appeals before the Board of Immigration Appeals. Gabriela’s expertise in other law related matters include helping victims of injury that were involved in vehicle and truck accidents recover maximum compensation for the injuries they suffered, represent families in Adoption and Guardianship proceedings, and assist individuals in divorce and custody proceedings.
Gabriela was born in Veracruz, Mexico and immigrated to the U.S. at the age of eight on a U.S. visitor’s visa. Gabriela is fluent in the languages of English and Spanish. Gabriela enjoys practicing law and loves making a positive impact and difference in the lives of her clients. Gabriela is married to Bradley J. Watson, her high school sweetheart with whom she has been married to for thirteen years, and they have a beautiful daughter named Isabella “Bella” Watson. During her spare time, Gabriela enjoys spending time with her family and friends, traveling and watching movies.
