Andrea Gherini has been a lawyer for over twenty-five years. She graduated cum laude from the University of Southern California with a Bachelor of Arts in History . She attended Loyola Law School, Los Angeles and graduated with Dean List Honors with her Juris Doctorate in 1981. While a law student, Andrea served as summer intern for the Honorable Justice William P. Clark of the California Supreme Court.
For the first ten years of her practice, Andrea represented business owners handling real estate and securities matters. However, she learned that her true calling was helping families with the often complicated, confusing, and emotional decisions they confront while trying to provide for themselves, or their children, or care for a loved one who is aging, or has a disability.
The mission of Ms. Gherini's practice is to listen, with compassion, to the needs expressed by her clients and to apply her professional expertise to craft individualized solutions to her clients' problems in the areas of Estate Planning, Elder Law, Conservatorships, Guardianships, Probate, Trust Administration, Medi-Cal planning, and Veterans benefits.
Ms. Gherini cares about the people she represents, whether working for the benefit of the elderly the young, families and veterans alike. She has a gentle, efficient manner, and understands the problems facing families today in these areas. Being a mother of two children and a wife herself, she can empathize with her clients and help them achieve their goals .
Ms. Gherini is a member of the San Diego Bar Association, served as Co-Chair of the Trusts & Estate Section of the North San Diego County Bar Association in 2008-2009, is a member of the Fiorenzo V. Lopardo Chapter of the American Inns of Court. Ms. Gherini is also a member of the National Academy of Elder Law Attorneys; in 2012 was elected treasurer of the Southern California Chapter of the National Academy of Elder Law Attorneys, and in 2013 was elected its Vice-President. Ms. Gherini also regularly volunteers with the San Diego Volunteer Lawyers and in 2008 received the Wiley W. Manuel Award from the State Bar of California for pro bono service.
In 2010, Ms. Gherini taught a course in Probate Administration to lawyers and other legal professionals on behalf of National Business Institute. In 2012, Andrea taught the Basics of Elder Law from A - Z for Law Review CLE. Andrea M. Gherini regularly lectures on topics of concern to families in the areas of estate planning and elder law, including Estate Planning 101 sponsored by The Salvation Army.
