Practice Areas:Attorney Seeger's practice is primarily comprised of Criminal Defense cases, Appeals, and General Litigation (Civil and Family).
Litigation and Trial Experience:At the Federal level, Attorney Seeger has represented clients in Constitutional challenges to State law, as well as Federal Civil Rights cases involving Excessive Force, Illegal Seizure, and Discrimination. Attorney Seeger's White Collar Crime experience extends to matters such as Tax Evasion, Securities Fraud, Obstruction of Justice, Investment Advisor Fraud, Wire Fraud, and Mortgage Fraud. He has also represented Defendants Indicted in Federal Organized Crime cases involving allegations of Racketeering, Hobbes Act Extortion, Illegal Gambling, Conspiracy, Weapons, Narcotics, and Drug Importation. In addition to these Federal matters, Attorney Seeger has also represented people in Deportation/Removal proceedings for Immigration violations stemming from State and Federal criminal convictions, at both the Federal Immigration Court level, and before the Board of Immigration Appeals. He has represented clients seeking student, employment, and marriage related Visas, as well as those seeking Asylum. Attorney Seeger has also Petitioned the Supreme Court of the United States for Certiorari, and conducted Criminal and Habeas Appeals before the Second Circuit.
At the State level, and as a Criminal Defense Attorney, Stephan Seeger has represented hundreds of clients, having conducted Jury Trials involving charges ranging from simple possession of marijuana, explosives, and D.W.I., to complex weapons possession, witness tampering, manslaughter, strangulation, kidnapping, and burglary. In addition, Attorney Seeger has represented criminal defendants in multiple murder cases tried to Jury Verdicts. Lastly, he has represented convicted defendants before the Connecticut Court of Appeals, and the Connecticut Supreme Court.
In State and Federal Civil Litigation matters, Attorney Seeger has also represented Plaintiffs advancing Negligence, Breach of Contract, Misrepresentation, Defamation, and other Personal Injury claims. He has defended clients against allegations of Breach of Contract, Negligence, Fraud, and Unfair Trade Practices, in Jury/Bench Trials and Arbitrations. Likewise, Attorney Seeger has also successfully defended General Construction Companies, Contractors, Managers, Pool Contractors, Sub-Contractors and Designers, in Construction litigation and Jury Trials. Finally, Attorney Seeger's experience extends into the area of Family Law Litigation, including Divorce Trials, Custody, Post Judgment Contempt, and Modification matters.
He has traveled to other states to appear pro hac vice, or as a case consultant for local counsel on state and federal matters which affect the Civil Rights of Connecticut Citizens involved in criminal cases abroad. In 2010, Attorney Seeger became involved internationally, representing a Government official in Kosovo charged with Public Corruption. Similarly, in 2013, he was granted special status in Mexico permitting him to join in the prosecution of those responsible for the death of a United States Marine killed while on vacation in Cancun. Attorney Seeger has also been involved in representing several NHL and AHL professional hockey players in various matters ranging from contract and other endorsement related matters, to cases requiring litigation. Attorney Seeger is a Certified NHLPA Agent authorized to engage in player contract negotiations with hockey teams in the NHL.

HIs comments and insight into the inner- workings of the original murder trial of Michael Skakel are included in Robert F. Kennedy Jr.'s book entitled "Framed," which was released in July of 2016.
Recent Publications:Attorney Seeger is the Author of a book entitled "LexisNexis Practice Guide: Connecticut Criminal Law," published by Matthew Bender & Company, Inc. The book is a task oriented practice-style manual for legal practitioners and students, released in December of 2016. It covers a wide variety of Connecticut criminal law topics ranging from client intake to Trial and Appellate representation.
