Russell D. Hedges graduated from Carson Newman College in 1977 with a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Psychology.  He then attended the University of Tennessee Law School, obtaining his Juris Doctorate Degree in 1980.  After graduating, Russell and his wife moved to Tullahoma, Tennessee, and began working as an attorney in private practice.  In 1981, Russell took a job with the District Attorney’s office and was an Assistant District Attorney for 3 years.  His principal focus was enforcing child support orders for the State of Tennessee.  In 1985, Russell returned to private practice and has been focusing on civil litigation since then.  Russell has litigated many types of civil cases over the last 30 years.  He now has principally limited his practice to the areas of Social Security disability and VA disability.

Russell is admitted to practice in Tennessee State and Federal Courts as well as the United States Supreme Court.  He is a member of the Tennessee Bar Association, Coffee County Bar Association, and the National Organization of Social Security Claimants’ Representatives.
