The National Advocates is an invitation-only national organization composed of America’s Premier Lawyers TM. Membership is extended solely to a select few of the most qualified attorneys from each state or region who exemplifies superior qualifications of leadership, reputation, influence, stature and profile as lawyers practicing in designated aspects of the law. It is the mission of The National Advocates to provide networking opportunities, advocacy training and the highest quality educational programs for lawyers.

Eligibility for Top 100:

Membership in The National Advocates: Top 100 is limited to the Top 100 Lawyers from each state or region who serves individuals and families in the legal system. Members of The National Advocates: Top 100 are encouraged to nominate their peers for membership who practice in the specialty areas of Matrimonial and Family Law; Bankruptcy Law; Social Security Disability Law; Immigration Law; Employment Law; and Wills, Trusts and Estates. Prospective members are carefully screened before being invited to join. The criteria for membership include:

  • Reputation among peers, the judiciary and the public
  • Achievements as specialty lawyers
  • Board certification in their areas of specialty
  • Nominations from leading lawyers, current members and Executive Committee members
  • Leadership and membership in other national and state specialty lawyer organizations
  • Rankings and ratings by leading national evaluation organizations and associations

Nominees must be lawyers actively practicing law in one of the following areas of specialty: Matrimonial and Family Law; Bankruptcy Law; Social Security Disability Law; Immigration Law; Employment Law; and Wills, Trusts and Estates. Memberships are reviewed annually to assure that the membership of The National Advocates: Top 100 is made up of only the premier attorneys from each state or region. All members are automatically reconsidered for membership but not automatically re-invited annually.

Eligibility for Top 40 Under 40:

The National Advocates: Top 40 under 40 is a professional organization composed of the top advocacy attorneys from each state or region who are age 40 and under. Membership into The National Advocates: Top 40 under 40 is by invitation only and is extended exclusively to those attorneys practicing Matrimonial and Family Law, Bankruptcy Law, Immigration Law, Social Security Disability Law, Employment Law and Wills, Trusts and Estates Law. Invitees must exemplify superior qualifications and leadership as a young attorney. Selection is based on a thorough multi-phase process which includes peer nominations combined with third-party research.

Each of our distinguished Top 40 under 40 members strives to encompass the knowledge, skill, experience and success held by only the best attorneys in America.  It is our mission to promote a unique and professional networking opportunity for young attorneys, while developing progressive ideas to educate the public about the importance of access to courts that are free of bias and undue influence, and to protect the rights of justice for all. The criteria for membership include:

  • At least 3 years of experience as a lawyer
  • Reputation among peers, the judiciary and the public
  • Achievements as specialty lawyers
  • Board certification in their areas of specialty
  • Nominations from leading lawyers, current members and Executive Committee members
  • Leadership and membership in other national and state specialty lawyer organizations
  • Rankings and ratings by leading national evaluation organizations and associations
